Axis IP cameras installed in the agency’s centers
MissionThe Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) is a Colombian government agency charged with providing vocation training to that country’s workforce. Since its creation in 1957, it has expanded its operations nationwide and now maintains 33 regional centers that offer a wide range of vocational training courses. Its regional center in Bogotá has an 18,000m2 campus that required a monitoring system sophisticated enough to ensure the safety of both its staff and student body and facilities.
SolutionIn response to the SENA Capital District Regional center’s need for enhanced security, Observer Monitoring proposed the installation of 44 high-definition, tamper-resistant Axis network cameras that met H.264 compression standards and offered a range of other features. The areas now protected by the video surveillance system installed by Observer Monitoring include classrooms, administrative offices, parking lots, laboratories, and staff entrances. The camera models chosen for this network were AXIS M1054, AXIS M1114-E, and AXIS P5534-E. A PTZ joystick ensures accurate control of the cameras installed. The solution provided by Observer Monitoring runs on Netcamara proprietary software, which is specifically designed to manage Netcamara cameras. The 20 GB RAM system features a Cat 6 data network, server, a 10TB hard drive, and four high-resolution monitors that display real-time images relayed from each of the areas monitored.
ResultThe installation of Axis equipment has improved security at SENA facilities and enabled the agency to handle special situations. The system has proven to be efficient, competitively priced and a worthwhile investment thanks to the guarantee and backup support that comes with the purchase of Axis equipment.
