CCTV for the municipalities of Antioquia
Approximately 100 Axis network dome cameras comprise Antioquia’s security project
“This is one of the most ambitious projects on urban video surveillance; and has led to implementation in the other municipalities of Antioquia and also nationally.“ Luz Dary Sanchez, Segurtronic Ltda.
Antioquia is located in the northwestern part of Colombia. Its capital is Medellin, the second largest city in population and economy, and is divided into 125 municipalities. The project includes the installation and implementation, adaptation, provision and operation of Axis network dome cameras in 17 municipalities in Antioquia. The municipalities in which the project took place in 2012 are Caucasia, Santa Rosa de Osos, San Pedro, Fredonia, Andes, Girardota, Ituango, San Carlos, Guarne, Guatapé, Carmen, Santuario, Urrao, Turbo, Sonsón, Retiro and Abejorrral; the installation is expected to be completed in 2013 with an investment of approximately $4.5 billion pesos.
The Project consisted of interconnecting chambers for each Municipality in Antioquia via wireless technology, where sites were installed to provide coverage to the cameras and monitoring centers of each municipality.
The solution enabled the interconnection of the cameras for each of the 17 municipalities of Antioquia through wireless technology, and sites installed to provide coverage to places where cameras and the monitoring centers of each city are located.
