Thermal detection and visual verification in one device

From border control and perimeter protection to wide area surveillance, Axis bispectral cameras combine thermal and visual imaging to deliver enhanced situational awareness for faster response times and smarter decision-making.

What is a bispectral camera?

Axis bispectral cameras combine two powerful sensors in one device: a thermal sensor for reliable detection 24/7 in any weather or lighting conditions, and a visual sensor for detailed verification and identification. Advanced thermal imaging detects heat signatures from objects instantly and uses visual imaging to verify and identify them for a complete overview of events and total situational awareness. Axis high-resolution visual sensors with up to 4K resolution capture sharp, detailed images, enabling accurate assessment and fast response. And models with OptimizedIR allow for verification in pitch darkness. What’s more, Axis bispectral cameras come in PTZ and fixed versions.

Solutions for the most demanding environments

From perimeter protection and border control to wide-area surveillance, these multispectral imaging cameras deliver reliable security across the most demanding environments. You can detect intruders along area perimeters 24/7, even in complete darkness and adverse weather. With thermal detection and visual verification in one device, bispectral cameras enable early warnings across expansive sites such as ports, airports, and large facilities. And they enhance operational efficiency by accurately distinguishing real incidents from false triggers, helping security teams focus on genuine threats and operate more efficiently around the clock.

Simplify installation and management with only one camera

These all-in-one cost-efficient devices offer dual imaging capabilities with separate thermal and visual data streams. AI-powered, they come with integrated analytics for object classification and intrusion detection, helping reduce false alarms and ensuring security teams can quickly verify and respond to real threats. Thanks to unified management within AXIS Camera Station and major third-party VMSs, they streamline operational workflows and minimize ongoing maintenance efforts. Furthermore, Axis bispectral cameras simplify procurement and system design, and with PoE support requiring just one cable drop, they significantly reduce project complexity and costs.
