Virtual Network Video Fundamentals

Virtual Network Video Fundamentals is a comprehensive course that covers the essentials of network video — right from your home or office. This course will teach you a variety of skills from camera basics, to system design, to troubleshooting. Devices featured in this course include fixed domes, PTZ cameras, thermal cameras, network speakers and more.

  • Upon completion of the course students will be confident in: 

  • Describing the basic features and abilities  of a network camera

  • Best practices of system design

  • Understanding bitrate and influencing factors 

  • Troubleshooting common issues 

  • Describing the basic roles and functions of devices in a network

  • Understanding light, including IR 

  • Integrating legacy devices as well as  new solutions

 

Course breakdown

This course is comprised of an online pre-course and a 2-day virtual classroom training. Students will complete the online course at their own pace before attending the virtual classroom portion. The virtual classroom experience includes 60+ practical demonstrations paired with real-world examples that reinforce key concepts from the online modules.

  • Part 2 is a two-day classroom experience
    - 20% instructor presentations and 80% hands-on exercises.

  • Part 3 Become an Axis Certified Professional (optional)

AXIS Camera Station: Essentials

AXIS Camera Station: Essentials is a comprehensive course on AXIS Camera Station. This training is hands-on — Students will work with Axis domes, PTZs, intercoms, and network speakers to gain first-hand experience with the installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of an AXIS Camera Station system. This course is ideal for installers, technicians, operators, and end-users of AXIS Camera Station. 

Upon completion of this course, you'll be confident in:

  • Operating AXIS Camera Station VMS
  • Installing and configuring an AXIS Camera Station solution 
  • Designing and planning a project using AXIS Site Designer
  • Coordinating device, such as moving a PTZ, unlocking a door, or activating a light in response to an event 
  • Integrating a door station and network  audio into AXIS Camera Station

 

Who should attend?

Security professionals who will design, install, configure, manage or support an AXIS Camera Station solution.

Axis Network Audio: Essentials

Axis Network Audio: Essentials is a comprehensive foundation course on network audio. This training is hands-on — Students will gain firsthand experience with Axis network audio speakers as they learn the fundamentals of audio and the science of sound. Students will learn how to install, configure, and operate network audio devices in standalone mode as well as in conjunction with network cameras. This course is ideal for installers, technicians, and end-users of network audio devices. 

Upon completion of this course, you'll be confident in:

  • Coordinating devices, such as having a  speaker play an announcement based on  a camera event 
  • Scheduling music or announcements
  • Utilizing audio analytics to cue audio or video events
  • Assessing space layout and acoustics to plan an appropriate network audio solution 
  • Describing the science behind sound, such as sound pressure, decibels, pitch, sampling frequency and bit depth

 

Who should attend?

Security professionals who want to integrate network audio into  their services.

Prerequisites: Registrants will be required to read the Technical Guide to Network Audio at their own pace prior to class.
