Solution overview

AXIS Body Worn for XProtect allows you to stream live footage from Axis body worn cameras, respond in real-time, collect evidence, and store footage. Built into AXIS Optimizer and XProtect Update Manager, it's easy to deploy and operate, and it supports the Axis body worn end-to-end portfolio, including body-worn cameras, docking stations, and central system controllers. Field personnel can live-stream video directly to operators improving coordination and situational awareness. All footage is protected with end-to-end encryption and can be securely offloaded as reliable evidence.

Installation

Download AXIS Optimizer Body Worn Extension plugin from axis.com and create a XProtect admin account. You can then create users in AXIS Body Worn Manager Pro and simply dock Axis body worn cameras to add them to your system. Then set data retention time and generate a connection file to securely link and offload footage into XProtect.

Setup and configure

Admin roles can setup live streaming and manage system configuration all from inside familiar XProtect interfaces. Easily add a system controller file to the server and enter the credentials into the AXIS Optimizer Body Worn Extension plugin. Once connected, body worn cameras can stream live video directly to XProtect using an encrypted peer-to-peer connection.

Daily operations

This united solution provides real-time situational awareness by linking body worn cameras and fixed camera footage in XProtect. Operators can monitor live video and GPS locations on digital maps, allowing for immediate visual verification with added context and multiple perspectives. Upgrade and maintenance

The integration is easily kept up to date by downloading the latest version of AXIS Optimizer Body Worn Extension from the Axis website. Administrators run the update on workstations hosting the Management Client or Smart Client to ensure compatibility and access to the latest features. Post-update, AXIS Body Worn for XProtect provides a quick verification to ensure all cameras are communicating correctly and the system is ready for operation.
