How it works

The peoly PPE Detection app is an ACAP module that runs directly on Axis cameras, leveraging the power of the ARTPEC-8 and -9 processors. It uses the camera's built-in neural processing unit to perform all AI analysis at the edge, eliminating the need for external servers. The app continuously analyzes the camera's live video stream to detect if personnel are wearing required PPE such as helmets, vests, reflective jackets and trousers, earmuffs, goggles, gloves. Upon detecting a non-compliance, it generates an instant on-camera alert via standard interfaces like ONVIF or Axis ACAP Events for seamless integration with any VMS or automation platform.
