Sound Event Detector (SED) is an ACAP application that runs directly on Axis devices with audio input capabilities. It utilizes the device's microphone and onboard processing power to continuously analyze ambient sounds. Using a proprietary deep neural network, the algorithm detects and classifies specific acoustic events like gunshots, explosions, or screams directly at the edge. Upon detection, SED triggers a standard Axis event, which can be used to initiate recordings, send alerts to a VMS, or trigger other automated security responses.
