XRTC-accelerated connectivity is implemented by installing the XRTC client software on the Axis camera and connecting it to the XRTC server. Data transmission is accelerated in both directions, i.e., the video stream from the camera to the end user and camera control commands from the end user to the camera. Multiple cameras can be connected to a single XRTC server. XRTC uses the TCP protocol for data transmission, making it secure and easy to use through firewalls.
Please note that this is a third-party solution; it is neither provided nor endorsed by Axis, which fully disclaims any responsibility for it.
XRTC is groundbreaking software for enhanced connectivity, developed by the Finnish company Delta Cygni Labs. Since the very first XRTC projects, we have used Axis cameras for demonstrations and customer projects. We developed an Axis OS-compatible XRTC plugin to make deployment quick and easy—even remotely, using standard Axis tools.
