Time to say goodbye to AMC and AMP SDK

With the market shifting into multi-platform solutions and the upcoming enforcement of the European Union Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), we have decided that it is time to discontinue AXIS Media Control SDK and AXIS Media Parser SDK.  


These two SDKs have been growing with feature requests for 20+ years and are still built on the same code base as they were originally created with. The code base is now legacy architecture with a very complex build process that doesn’t align with current development standards. This makes it very hard to keep maintaining these SDKs and at the same time make sure they are compliant with the upcoming enforcement of the European Union Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).  
 
We understand that the discontinuation of AMC SDK and AMP SDK will affect existing solutions, but these solutions will continue to work as before even after the end-of-life date. Instead, we recommend that you find a more long-term solution, that is not using AMC SDK and AMP SDK. This is especially important for you who are operating within the European Union as these SDKs will not become CRA compliant. 

End-of-Life date: September 24th, 2029.

Axis will continue to support the AXIS Media Control SDK and AXIS Media Parser SDK up until the End-of-Life date. During this period Axis may release replacement, maintenance releases or bug fixes to the discontinued product. When the period has elapsed, Axis will no longer develop, maintain, or test the discontinued product. 

 

  • Discontinuation date: September 24, 2026.
  • End-of-life date: September 24, 2029.
