Engen Petroleum Ltd. upgrades security surveillance with Axis

Axis network cameras and video encoders selected for revamp of countrywide CCTV system

This upgrade has significantly enhanced the clarity of Engen’s surveillance footage, thereby improving the overall security of their premises.“ Belinda Gouws, TVMS Director.

Engen Petroleum Limited operates the second biggest refinery in South Africa. The operation of a refinery comes with many challenges in terms of extensive regulation and strict adherence to industry standards. In light of these exacting requirements, Engen identified the need for an upgrade to their existing CCTV system at four of their national offices, as well as maintenance of the surveillance cameras at their refinery and depots.

Security technology specialist, TVMS, was awarded the CCTV maintenance contract in October 2011, outperforming several other companies in the tender process. “All of our solutions are based on the deployment of internationally respected brands and through our association with highly regarded supply chain partners,” remarks Belinda Gouws, Director of TVMS. “Our decision to use Axis as the supplier of choice hinged on their competitive pricing and wide range of quality products.”

Engen is now in possession of a stable, reliable CCTV system that is easy to use and simple to expand as and when the need arises. TVMS provides Engen with a competent maintenance service and constant access to their vast experience and knowledge, ensuring that the depots, offices and the refinery have an unfailing surveillance solution in place at all times.
