How to prepare for your job interview at Axis

Have you applied for an open position at Axis? Find out what you can expect from your job interview and get some tips and tricks on how to be successful.

I have submitted an application. What happens now?

We’ll reply just as soon as we can. We’re humble and we recognize that you’re waiting, so we do what we can to keep you posted about what’s going on. 

Great, I’ve got an interview. What should I think about?

First of all, congratulations – we’re excited to meet you! There is no need to feel nervous: the interview is a chance for us to get to know each other better. We want to learn more about your motivations, personality and experiences. Our way of interviewing is focused on real-life examples of how you have acted in different situations. A good way to prepare for this interview is to start by reading the job ad again. What are the requirements for the role? Then try to come up with some examples where you have previously displayed these.

During your interview you should try and remember to: 

  • Relax – it is a conversation, not an interrogation: this is an opportunity for you to show us why you’re a great fit for the role. 
  • It’s your moment as much as ours: this is your chance to find out if we are the perfect fit for you. Be curious and explore, your questions are always welcomed! 
  • If you don’t understand a question or need a moment to think about it: just let us know, we’re here to support you. 
  • Stay focused on the role you have applied for: try to connect your answers to its responsibilities and requirements. 
  • Be specific and structured: make sure you answer the question we’ve asked. 
  • Use real examples: try to avoid general answers 
  • Most importantly, be yourself: we want to get to know you as a person.

 

If we both think we’re a match, the next step depends on the role you have applied for. It could be a case or code test, a panel interview, or a meeting with a manager’s manager. We’ll make sure to inform you about the next steps during your first interview.

Great. We’re a match! What happens now?

First of all, we should both celebrate! 

You have an exciting time ahead of you. Your first weeks will be all about onboarding. You will meet your new colleagues, learn about Axis, and join relevant training courses to help get you settled in your new role. And don’t worry; we welcome hundreds of new employees every year, so we know how important a great onboarding experience is. 

Once you have settled in you will be invited to Axis Intro Days, where you will meet and connect with new colleagues from all over the world.  

I didn’t get a job offer. Can I come back and try again?

Of course! If you didn’t get a job offer it doesn’t mean that you cannot succeed next time. Keep in mind that our decision is based on many factors. Not being successful first time is not a reflection on you and your chances another time.
