AXIS Media Control

AXIS Media Control ActiveX component enables easy viewing of Motion JPEG, MPEG-4* and H.264* streams directly in Microsoft Internet Explorer and other ActiveX containers.

The AXIS Media Control SDK is especially efficient for live view streaming, but can also be used for capturing snapshot images, recording video sequences in ASF format and to playback the recorded video files. Documentation and code examples are included in the SDK.

Key features of the AXIS Media Control include:

  • Window 7 support
  • Motion JPEG support
  • MPEG-4 support
  • H.264 support
  • Audio support
  • Functionality to record and playback ASF files
  • PTZ control using mouse or joystick

This AMC SDK video tutorial describes step by step how a programmer easily can create a Windows software application with integrated support for Axis network video products.

Note: The AXIS Media Control is currently the only Windows SDK publicly available from Axis. However, additional Windows SDKs for recording and playback, camera management and camera simulation, along with technical documentation, tools and dedicated development support are available to participants of the Axis Application Development Partner (ADP) Program. If you are developing solutions to support Axis network video products, take advantage of the many commercial and technical benefits available to Axis ADPs. Learn more about the ADP program
