How it works?

CAMMRA AI leverages the image and edge processing power of Axis cameras to capture and recognize vehicles in high-speed and multi-lane environments. It operates on all Axis Artpec 8 cameras using the ACAP open platform, leveraging DLPU which allows running several unique neural networks in parallel. Data fusion with Axis radar-video fusion cameras enables adding instantaneous speed to every detected vehicle.

Next-gen object-based vehicle recognition app powered by 5 neural networks on the edge

  • Recognizes vehicles and license plates, including country, state, and type.
  • Identifies over 3,000 vehicle makes, models, 11 colors, and 7 classes.
  • Detects vehicle direction and transmits real-time data to various systems.
  • Integrates easily with external databases and fuses data with Sorama noise cameras and Axis video-radar cameras.

Use cases

Monitoring City traffic - analytics

CAMMRA: Vital for Precinct City Traffic

To enhance suburban safety, a South African municipality needed a robust traffic monitoring system with comprehensive vehicle identification capabilities. In collaboration with Axis, FF Group implemented a solution that recognizes license plates, make, model, type, and color directly on Axis cameras. This data is sent to a central police database, allowing immediate action on suspicious vehicles, thereby boosting public safety and crime prevention.

Austrian police: Highway traffic monitoring

To enhance urban safety, the Austria police required a comprehensive traffic monitoring system capable of detailed vehicle identification, including license plate, make, model, type, and color, to effectively detect suspicious vehicles and prevent crime. In partnership with Axis, FF Group implemented a solution using 51 Axis cameras integrated with Milestone XProtect, enabling continuous monitoring and swift detection of intruders. Alerts are sent to police patrols in real time, allowing immediate action and enhancing overall urban security.
