Course description

Axis Network Audio Essentials is a comprehensive foundation course on network audio. This training is hands-on – students will gain first-hand experience with Axis network audio speakers and Axis audio management software. In the first half of the course, students will learn how to configure and operate network audio devices in standalone mode as well as in a VMS. While in the second half of the course, students will learn how to plan, configure, and operate systems via AXIS Audio Manager Edge.

Purposes of network audio and advantages versus traditional analog audio systems.

• Standalone mode

Learn how to set up and use a network speaker in standalone mode (not a part of an audio system).

• Axis network audio portfolio

Discover Axis audio products and their respective use cases and typical scenarios.

• Planning and executing audio systems

Learn how to plan, design, install and troubleshoot a network audio system.

• AXIS Audio Manager Edge part 1

Basic setup: system leader, zones, opening hours, and scheduling.

• AXIS Audio Manager Edge part 2

Paging: functions, sources, devices/intermediary devices, and zones.

• AXIS Audio Manager Edge part 3

System management: priority, calibration, user levels, settings, dashboard, AXIS Audio Remote, and troubleshooting.

• basic sound theory and basic knowledge about SIP and VAPIX

understand:

• how to identify considerations for planning audio systems

• advantages of network audio versus analog systems

be able to:

• operate a network speaker in standalone mode, and as part of a VMS

• configure basic audio installations using software such as AXIS Audio Manager Edge

Prerequisites

To get the most out of the training, you need to have an understanding of IP networks. We recommend that you take the online course Introduction to network audio before attending this course. Basic Microsoft Visio skills are also recommended for the design workshop.
