Unmatched area coverage with great accuracy

Built on ARTPEC-9, AXIS D2123-VE offers a wide 270° horizontal field of detection and delivers reliable detection and AI-powered classification across expansive areas in all weather and light conditions, 24/7. It can recognize humans at a distance up to 140 m (460 ft) in an area of 30,000 m² (323,000 sq ft)*. And it can accurately track up to 100 different objects simultaneously. Using unique box-shaped detection and recognition zones, it offers simplified system design and more efficient, optimized coverage planning. This radar is ideal for mounting on sturdy poles or on corners. Furthermore, it can trigger automated actions on other devices, such as activating a strobe siren or camera recording.

Optimal performance with next-level radar-PTZ camera fusion

This radar works either standalone or integrated with selected ARTPEC-9 PTZ cameras to enable next-level radar-video fusion technology where AI-powered radar analytics are combined with video analytics in the PTZ camera to minimize false alarms. This deep integration provides seamless operations with accurate AI-powered visual verification on the edge and state-of-the-art autotracking capabilities—adding an extra layer of protection to enhance your surveillance system.

With this multi-layered approach, you get maximum efficiency with more enriched data and better decision-making tools for security guards and operating personnel. The two devices are integrated through edge-to-edge radar pairing, and all configurations are handled through the PTZ camera. You can set up tailored scenarios based on prioritized objects and user-defined zones and automatically direct the PTZ camera to the object of interest.

Multi-layered, cost-effective solution

With radar-video fusion, it’s also possible to set up double-knock verification, where both radar and video analytics need to confirm the detection and classification before triggering an event. This further lowers the false alarm rate, saving time and effort. Both the radar and PTZ camera run AI-powered analytics and radar-video fusion on the edge for improved performance and lower costs. AXIS D2123-VE uses the same mounting interface as Axis PTZ cameras, so it’s easy to add it to existing installations. Plus, with PoE out, there’s no additional cable drop needed. The ARTPEC-9 PTZ camera and its IR illumination are only activated when triggered by the radar, maximizing energy savings. What’s more, when integrated with a compatible camera through radar pairing, there’s only one IP address—no need for additional VMS licenses.

Flexible installations and combinations

Designed for flexibility, AXIS D2123-VE lets you tailor your system to meet changing requirements. In addition to deep integration with selected ARTPEC-9 PTZ cameras, it works with different devices, such as other Axis PTZ cameras or strobe speakers. Or you can pair it with a panoramic camera for 180° visual coverage enhanced by AXIS Radar Data Visualizer. Despite its wide coverage, this radar offers low average power consumption per unit area (per m² / sq ft) for greater energy efficiency. The bottom line? This flexible solution is ideal in various locations, including, for instance, in mobile surveillance trailers or off-grid installations where power availability is often limited. What’s more, radar image stabilization ensures more accurate radar images when the device is subject to vibrations.

Electromagnetic wave transmission from Axis radar devices is harmless – even with continuous exposure – so you can get close to them without any risks. According to calculations in accordance with ICNIRP guidelines on Limiting Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields, Axis radars’ emitted power levels are below what is considered medically harmful, even at a centimeter distance from the radar.
