Optimized for specific cameras
Axis OptimizedIR delivers uniform illumination, so the entire field-of-view stays evenly lit. Even when using PTZ cameras, the IR beam automatically widens or narrows as the camera zooms in and out. With support for several LEDs with light guides, OptimizedIR adjusts light intensity for perfect exposure. Our high-precision, IR-compensated lenses, together with long-range, high-quality LEDs fine-tuned to the camera, ensure well-exposed, high-quality, low-noise video.
And because infrared light is invisible, the LEDs reduce light pollution and don’t disturb people. Infrared surveillance is discreet, and options include 850 nm for semi-covert surveillance and 940 nm to completely avoid red glowing LEDs. Advanced heat-management capabilities ensure the LEDs are powerful and long-reaching.
Optimized for specific situations
Ideal for night-time surveillance of high-speed objects, OptimizedIR ensures superior contrast and low noise levels, thanks to its use of powerful LEDs combined with Axis Lightfinder. You can manually or automatically adjust the intensity of the individual LEDs, and the camera adjusts the exposure and use of WDR to improve visibility. This ensures optimal image quality for nearby or reflective objects, even when the camera is installed in a corner or close to a wall. In addition, individual LED lights can be dimmed or turned off remotely from the web interface, making it easy to adjust for situations where there’s multiple cameras or infrared lights in the same scene.
Efficient and sustainable
OptimizedIR uses power-efficient LEDs with minimal heat dissipation, and illumination is concentrated where it’s needed, so you get low energy consumption and maximum power efficiency. And because the LEDs are built-in, there’s no extra device or power supply needed for external lighting. Plus, the LEDs are powered by PoE, so there’s no extra cabling needed for them either. What’s more, low heat-generating LEDs maintain a suitable operating temperature, which ensures the LEDs are durable and long-lasting. And, with a lower bitrate compared with color video, this technology minimizes bandwidth and storage needs.
