Information about Axis’ collection and use of your personal data

Axis Communications AB and our group of companies are committed to protecting your privacy and using your personal data in accordance with applicable data privacy legislation and Axis’ privacy policy.

Please take a few minutes to read through the information below to understand why we collect and use your personal data. References in this privacy notice to “Axis”, “we”, “us”, and “our” are references to Axis Communications AB.

We provide this privacy notice in different languages. In case of any conflicts or inconsistencies between a non-English version of the privacy notice and the English version, the English version takes precedence.

What is personal data?

Personal data is any information that can be used, alone or together with other data, to uniquely identify any living human being, such as your name, or any email addresses or phone numbers related to you personally.

What personal data do WE collect and use, for what purposes and on what legal grounds?

When you sign in in order to post comments on and use Axis’ Blogs (“Blog”), we will collect and process the following types of information about you, which may contain personal data about you:

Your name.
Your email address.
The URL of your personal site with the online service you use to sign in (e.g., Facebook) to comment on the Blog
The IP address of the computer that you use when you sign in to comment on the Blog.
What web browser and operating system you use when you post comments on the Blog.
The date and time of the comments that you post on the Blog.
The contents of the comments that you post on the Blog.

As applicable, we use this personal data for the following purposes: Legal grounds for our collection and use of your personal data:
To be able to manage your Blog identity and to provide and give you the possibility to post comments on the Blog.  If you have chosen post comments on the Blog, this use, including the collection of the personal data needed to do it, is necessary for the performance of the contract we have we you – that is, our obligation to provide and give you the possibility to post comments on the Blog –, including ensuring that your use of the Blog is in compliance with applicable terms and conditions for that use.

With whom do we share your personal data?

Axis operates globally and we may share your personal data with our group of companies and business partners – but only for the purposes described in this privacy notice. This means that we may transfer your personal data to organizations in countries within and outside the European Union and the European Economic Area. We will not transfer any of your personal data to organizations in countries outside of the European Union and the European Economic Area (third country) without ensuring appropriate safeguards for the protection of your personal data, for example the existence of a so called ‘adequacy decision’ by the Commission or the inclusion of the so-called ‘standard contractual clauses’ (as approved by the European Commission from time to time) in a contract between us and the third country recipient company of your personal data.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We will not use your personal data for any longer than 1. needed in order to fulfil the purposes described in this privacy notice; and/or 2. the blog posts you commented on remain published on the Blog. After that, we will delete or permanently de-identify your personal data unless required or entitled by law to retain it, or parts of it.

Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?

Axis Communications AB, incorporated under the laws of Sweden, corporate registration number 556253-6143, is the data controller of your personal data collected and used for the purposes described in this privacy notice. This means that Axis Communications AB is responsible for collecting and using your personal data in accordance with applicable law. Axis Communications AB has its principal place of business at Emdalavägen 14, SE-223 69 Lund, Sweden. You can reach Axis Communication AB’s data protection office at dataprotection@axis.com.

What are your rights in relation to your personal data held by us?

You have a right to get information on what personal data we have about you, access this data, request that we erase certain parts or all of your personal data, request that we restrict the use of or stop using your personal data, and have your personal data resubmitted to you in a structured and accessible format.

If you wish to exercise any of these rights, go to www.axis.com/privacy and submit your request. If you have any other questions regarding your personal data that you believe were not answered in this privacy notice, you may contact our data protection office at dataprotection@axis.com.

Please note that if you ask us to erase or restrict the use of any of your personal data, we may not be able to continue managing your Blog identity, which means that you may not be allowed to post comments on the Blog.

Should you be dissatisfied with our collection and use of your personal data, please let us know and we will do our best to address your complaints. Your privacy is very important to us, and we always strive to protect and secure your personal data in the best possible way. Should you feel that we have failed in this ambition, you are entitled to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Data Protection Authority (Sw., Datainspektionen), or such other supervisory authority as may be determined in the future.
