AXIS OS pre-releases are made available for a range of products to help you:

  • Proactively ensure compatibility and explore new capabilities and features ahead of official releases on the AXIS OS active track.
  • Prioritize rapid cybersecurity patching to eliminate vulnerabilities immediately, even if full compatibility and quality testing follow shortly after.

For more information about AXIS OS, upcoming release and included features, visit the AXIS OS Lifecycle guide.

Using beta and alpha releases

  • Beta releases include new features and bug fixes that are planned to be included in the upcoming release on the AXIS OS active track, however they have not yet passed our complete release testing.
  • Alpha releases are released more frequently than beta releases and include more cybersecurity patches. New features included in the alpha release may not be included in the next release.
  • Available functionality in AXIS OS pre-releases may vary depending on the device model and prior releases.

AXIS OS pre-releases are intended for testing in staging environments. Do not use AXIS OS pre-releases in any production environment unless you are aware of the risks involved. To downgrade from a pre-release to a production release, reset your product to factory default first.

Your use of the AXIS OS pre-releases is subject to Axis End User License Agreement and the Product Specific Terms AXIS OS.
