“Thanks to the advanced security cameras by Axis Communications, the clarity in the images is absolutely unbelievable.” Brendon Smith, the Store Owner and Operator of the Hastings PAK’nSAVE site.
Mission
PAK’nSAVE, a New Zealand food storage facility and supermarket that stocks everyday food products in bulk, passing on extremely low costs to customers, was looking to update its previous security system to protect the large amount of food and assets on premise. The supermarket business, running under the Foodstuffs banner, required a cutting-edge solution that protected the entire premise 24 hours a day, during both operational hours and closing hours. With such large amounts of foot traffic, PAK’nSAVE required a unique solution that could be versatile, maintain security throughout the entire premise, and also monitor every individual that would enter and exit the premise to ensure maximum security measures.
Solution
Shadow Solutions, under the direction of Managing Director, Matt Hacking, had installed the previous security solution on the PAK’nSAVE premise and was approached to update the system with new reliable security measures. Having worked with Axis Communications on previous projects, and been very happy with the hardware, Shadow Solutions decided that a combination of Axis and Genetec products would provide the ideal solution for the supermarket.
Result
The streaming technology and integrational capability of the Axis products provided an excellent solution for the PAK’nSAVE site. AXIS P3707-PE Network Camera, a 360-degree, 8MP, quad-view camera quickly became a favourite during the installation as a result of the ground coverage it could achieve at a decreased cost.
