Axis explosion-protected cameras are designed and certified for use anywhere in the world, from arctic to desert climate, with a full range of power and network connectivity. Our certified Class I/II/III Div 1 and Zone 1,21 (according to ATEX, IECEx, cMETus, and more) cameras can be used in Zone 1/Division 1 hazardous areas. Axis cameras certified for Zone 1/Division 1 provide many benefits within health and safety applications as well as operational efficiency. For instance, with smoke alert analytics preinstalled they can monitor for signs of smoke or fire in potentially combustible environments.

With ‘Ex d’ (flameproof) or ‘Ex t’ (dustproof) protection, they can safely contain an internal explosion and prevent the external release of energy. This means they prevent sparks from igniting vapors, gases, dust, or fibers and flyings in the surrounding potentially combustible atmosphere.
