Vehicle speed enforcement by CamCentral Systems Inc.

SpeedScan turns the AXIS Q1686-DLE radar-video fusion camera into a self-contained speeding-vehicle recorder. It fuses radar speed with AXIS License Plate Verifier reads at the edge — plate, speed, and direction logged on-camera, no server required.

How it works

SpeedScan is an ACAP application that runs entirely on the AXIS Q1686-DLE radar-video fusion camera alongside AXIS License Plate Verifier. It fuses the camera's 60 GHz radar speed and direction measurements with plate reads from License Plate Verifier via ONVIF events. Every speeding event is logged to the camera's SD card with plate, speed, direction, and timestamp, served through an on-device web interface with CSV/JSON export to ticketing systems. No server, cloud, or extra hardware is required, making it ideal for off-grid, solar-powered deployments. CamCentral developed SpeedScan as an Axis Application Development Partner, and it is field-proven in a university campus enforcement program.
