Visualize your radar data
Add value and increased functionality to your Axis camera with AXIS Speed Monitor. Available at no extra cost, this application gathers radar data and visualizes measured vehicle speeds up to 200 km/h (125 mph) directly in your camera feed.* Plus, thanks to color-coded overlays, you can quickly identify speeding vehicles. Furthermore, radar data can be used in combination with other analytics installed on the visual camera.
Live monitoring and events
AXIS Speed Monitor is ideal for measuring vehicle speed and monitoring roads. It collects and processes radar data and presents the data as visual overlays in the camera feed. This means you can display the speed in real-time. By combining this solution with public view monitors, you can send live messages asking speeding drivers to slow down. The data can also be used to trigger other events such as activating strobe lights, triggering alarms, starting camera recordings, and more.

The data can be exported as a CSV-file for creating comprehensive graphical overviews. For instance, about the number of vehicles passing per day, and their speed. Each message payload includes detailed information on individual vehicles, including speed, direction, entry point, and exit point in a defined radar scenario.

*To monitor speeds between 55 km/h (~34 mph) and 105 km/h (~65 mph), or up to 200 km/h (125 mph), depending on the specific Axis radar device used, the road monitoring profile must be enabled on your radar.
