Course description:

Learn about designing network video solutions and how to design a system with AXIS Site Designer. Start by studying essential theory at your own pace in three eLearning courses. Then you’ll be ready for a day in the classroom where our instructor will present Axis design-related tools and demonstrate AXIS Site Designer functionality. This is followed by a hands-on design exercise and assessment using virtual reality. Aimed at system integrators and installers who focus on designing solutions, the flexible learning method mixes online courses with instructor-led training, to suit your learning style, preferences, and needs, so you can learn more efficiently

Practical information:

Format: eLearning + instructor led-training
Length:  90 mins (eLearning) + 1 day (instructor-led classroom)
Language: English

Course outline:

Part 1 - Self Paced eLearnings

a - Module 1 - Needs assessment

How to conduct a needs assessment with the customer and understand image quality requirements.

Matching camera capabilities to customer objectives.

b - Module 2 - Site survey

How to conduct a site survey and identify unique environmental challenges.

Matching camera capabilities to site-specific challenges.

c - Module 3 - Site design

Camera placement.

Various Axis design-related tools, focusing on AXIS Site Designer.

Please note the Modules take approximately 30 mins each and can be completed in your own time before attending your classroom training.

Part 2 - Classroom training

a - Axis tools

Overview of Axis design-related tools, such as product selector, accessory selector, lens calculator and AXIS Site Designer. Includes a guided demonstration of AXIS Site Designer functionality.

b - Design exercise with AXIS Site Designer

Complete system design on a reality-based scenario using AXIS Site Designer.

c - Design assessment using virtual reality

Camera installation in virtual reality based on designs from the AXIS Site Designer exercise.

Assessment of design parameters using a simulated real-life scenario.

Final Assessment – eLearning

Take a comprehensive quiz to access overall understanding of the eLearning courses and instructor-led training.

Course objectives:

After completing the training, participants should be able to:

  • Design a video solution system combining the use of Axis tools, site-specific design considerations, and customer objectives
  • Proficiently use AXIS Site Designer
  • Differentiate Axis camera capabilities from a design perspective
  • Identify surveillance objectives and requirements for adequate image quality
  • Recognise parameters for camera placement
  • Match Axis tools for site design purposes

Who should attend:

System integrators and installers in the network video surveillance industry who focus on designing solutions.

Prerequisites:

To get the most out of the training, we recommend that you take the Network video fundamentals training before starting this training.

All three eLearning courses must be completed before beginning the instructor-led training.
