Designed for perimeter protection and area security, this radar device delivers AI-powered classification with 360° coverage, 24/7. When installed with AXIS Q6225-LE, it enables double-knock verification using AXIS Radar Autotracking for PTZ.

Unmatched area coverage with great accuracy

AXIS D2124-VE detects objects at a distance of up to 200 m (656 ft), with human recognition across 40,000 m² (430,000 ft²).* Box-shaped detection and recognition zones simplify coverage planning. Designed to be mounted on sturdy poles, mobile surveillance trailers, or rooftops, it delivers complete 360° coverage. Plus, radar image stabilization ensures more accurate radar detections when the device is subject to vibrations—ideal for windy environments. This IP-based device can trigger automated actions on other devices, and multiple line-crossing scenario reduces false alarms in complex scenes. What’s more, four integrated dynamic LED strips support visible deterrence.

AXIS D2124-VE can be installed with AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ Camera to deliver cost-efficient, large-area surveillance. These two devices work together, enabled by AXIS Radar Autotracking for PTZ, which combines server-side AI-powered classification on the video stream and autotracking. It also ensures accurate visual verification of radar alarms—all without human interaction. To further minimize false alarms, an optional double-knock feature requires visual verification of the radar alarm before triggering an event. Furthermore, operators can easily access enriched data from both the radar and PTZ camera’s video stream to support smarter decision-making.

Cost-efficient solutions

Despite its vast 360° coverage and AI-powered classification, AXIS D2124-VE offers low power consumption—averaging 14.8 W for the entire human recognition zone of 40,000 m² (430,000 ft²). This makes it ideal for off-grid and mobile surveillance trailer installations where energy efficiency is key. IP-based, it can trigger automated actions on another device, such as activating IR illumination only when needed. It’s also easy to add this surveillance device to existing AXIS Q6225-LE installations and power it using an Axis high PoE 120 W midspan, enabling visual and radar double-knock verification. Plus, with PoE out, there’s no additional cable drop needed.

According to calculations in accordance with ICNIRP guidelines on Limiting Exposure to Electromagnetic Fields, Axis radars’ emitted power levels are below what is considered medically harmful, even at a centimeter distance from the radar.
