What is your role at Axis?

I’m a Solutions Development Specialist and my primary responsibility is to ensure the quality and functionality of software components and camera applications before they are deployed to our customers’ sites. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and a sharp eye for detecting any potential issues or bugs. Additionally, as part of a newly established position within our team, I am instrumental in setting up the testing infrastructures and procedures that will guide our future work.

Reflecting on my journey to this role, I am filled with pride and gratitude for the progress I’ve made. Prior to joining Axis, I worked in the construction industry, and transitioning to a solutions development role seemed like a daunting challenge. However, driven by my passion for technology and determination to pursue my interests, I took the leap and joined Axis. Starting in a non-technical role while pursuing a degree in computer science, I received invaluable support and guidance from my team leaders and managers. With their mentorship, I navigated through various roles within the company, gradually transitioning into positions that allowed me to leverage my technical skills and expertise.

What does your team do?

My team thrives on achieving the seemingly impossible. We specialize in delivering tailored solutions that not only meet but exceed our customers’ specific needs. What distinguishes us is our ability to go beyond the traditional applications of our devices, exploring realms beyond typical security use cases. Our strength lies in the depth of knowledge within our team and our unique expertise. By actively engaging with our customers, we gain insights into the challenges they face, allowing us to craft solutions precisely aligned with their requirements. This blend of expertise and customer-centric approach enables us to consistently deliver solutions that truly address the needs of our clientele.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

No two days in my role are alike, and that’s what keeps things exciting! Some days are dedicated to writing tests for ongoing projects, ensuring thorough evaluation of every aspect. I also participate in collaborative meetings with my team, where we brainstorm ideas and strategies for current and future projects. On other occasions, I liaise with our Technical Services team, keeping them abreast of upcoming projects to ensure seamless customer support. This proactive approach ensures that we’re always prepared to address any concerns that may arise.
