AXIS Visitor Entry for Genetec streamlines the management of identification credentials — eliminating numerous manual tasks related to handling, printing, distributing, and disposing of physical identity badges. Instead, operators can quickly create and share QR codes with visitors who simply present them to a device upon entry. Supported devices from Axis include a broad range of network intercoms, modular cameras and outdoor cameras embedded with AXIS Barcode Reader, which allows them to also function as QR code readers.
Create and share credentials
AXIS Visitor Entry for Genetec provides unique QR codes that grant visitors access to specific doors or site areas for any given time period as setup within Genetec Synergis™ 10.9.1037.0 or later. The operator first registers the visitor’s profile and entry details in Genetec Cardholder Management. After this, they can send the QR code to the visitor via email.
Easy access for visitors
When the visitor arrives, they present their QR code to the Axis intercom or camera embedded with Axis Barcode Reader. The credential’s data is sent to the access control door controller to determine access rights. Once validated, the door controller communicates its entry decision to a door lock which unlocks the door. Up to five locks can be connected wirelessly via a single AXIS A1601 Network Door Controller.
