How to get the best results using the FAQ search?

The Axis FAQ has two search options

1. Product selection search
2. Full text search (Text search)

Product selection search
Product selection should be used WITH the text search to narrow the number of hits, selecting by product only will show all the FAQ’s that relate to that product and can be hundreds of FAQ’s. Always add a text word with a product search to filter down to the subject you are interested in.

Suggestion is to use text ‘keywords’ with the product search
Example: Product selection: Network Video > Fixed network cameras > AXIS P13 Series >
       AXIS P1344 and text “event”

Text search
The following list describes searches terms and their expected results, note the search is NOT case sensitive:

  • Single word search: Entries were word appears 'as it is' or begins with the word
    Example: “P13” search will show all P13 series and all P13 product FAQ’s, and any FAQ’s where P13 is in the tool keywords or appears in the text of the question or answer.
  • Multiple word search: only entries with this exact wording
    Example: “P1344” search will show all AXIS P1344, AXIS P1344-E FAQ’s and any FAQ’s where “P1344” is in the tool keywords or appears in the text of the question or answer.
  • Separated word search: same as single word search
    Example: “Motion detection” search will show all FAQ’s where motion and/or detection are in the tool keywords or in the text of the question or answer.
  • Other characters
    Example “+” :  "Motion+detection" will search for “motion+detection” not the phrase “motion detection” and get no or very few hits
