Owner Authentication Key - OAK
With each Axis device, you get a piece of paper with an owner authentication key (OAK) printed on it. You need the OAK to verify ownership when you register the device with an O3C-based service. Please keep this document in a safe place – it’s a certificate that shouldn’t be discarded or disclosed to third parties.
If you’ve lost your OAK, you can retrieve it by logging in to the device as an admin user. Then follow one of the paths below, depending on the firmware version of your device:
Firmware based on 5.51: Go to Setup > Options > Support > System Overview.
Firmware based on 6.50: Go to Setup > Options > Support > System Overview.
Firmware based on 8.40: Go to System > AVHS, and then click Retrieve OAK.
Firmware based on 9.80: Go to System > AVHS, and then click Retrieve OAK.
Firmware based on 10.0 or higher: Go to System > O3C, and then click Retrieve OAK.
Note: This requires that the device runs firmware version 5.51.7, 6.50.5.2, 8.40.4, 9.80.2 or 10.0.0. Please upgrade the firmware if your device is running a lower firmware version.
Axis can’t assist in retrieving the OAK for you.
