General information
- Core Device Licenses are used by AXIS devices up to 32 cameras per system
- Universal Device Licenses add scalability above 32 devices and provide Third Party Device support
- Channel Licenses refer to the old type of licenses (AXIS Camera Station 4 and below)
- Core and Universal Device Licenses can only be used with AXIS Camera Station 5
- Up to 32 AXIS devices in a current system are upgraded to Core Device License for free
- All ACS4 Channel Licenses residing on AXIS S10 Recorder give free upgrade to Universal Device Licenses
Different license types:
- AXIS Camera Station Core Device License
- AXIS Camera Station Universal Device License
- AXIS Camera Station 4 Channel licenses to Universal Device Upgrade Licenses
- AXIS Camera Station Core Device License to Universal Device Upgrade Licenses
Note: When an AXIS Camera Station viewing client is connected to two or more AXIS Camera Station servers at the same time, these servers are considered as part of the same system and share a common pool of maximum 32 Core Device licenses in total. The calculation made by this tool is done for a single server.
