Axis Communications, the global leader in the network video market1 is celebrating after winning the IP user application of the year award for its AXIS 207MW Network Camera at the third annual Network Computing awards.

The reader-nominated Network Computing awards recognise the products, services and companies that have particularly impressed readers of the publication over the last year. Axis beat off stiff competition from a shortlist of eight to take home the best IP user application award for its AXIS 207MW Network Camera.

The AXIS 207MW Network Camera is the smallest wireless megapixel network camera in the world, offering the best image quality in its class even in low lighting conditions. It comes with both Wireless IEEE 802.11g and Ethernet network interface for flexible installation. The AXIS 207MW Network Camera is ideal for indoor surveillance and is equally suited for residential and small business use. It is especially proficient for use in situations that require greater detail or a wider field of view.

Phil Doyle, managing director, Axis Communications said: “The fact that this award was nominated for by the readers of Network Computing makes it all the more important. It is fantastic that this award is based on genuine reader opinion and it really is testament to Axis’ position as the global market leader in the network video market.

“With resolution at least three times better than analogue CCTV, the demand for network cameras is continuing to rise and we are dedicated to meeting this demand, continually broadening our offering to ensure we remain the market leader.”

This year’s Network Computing Awards ceremony took place on 19th March at the Guomon Tower
Hotel in London and was hosted by comedian Stephen Grant. Launched in 1991, Network Computing is the UK’s longest established computer networking magazine.
