Earlier this year Axis Communications announced the launch of AXIS Q1656-LE, an outdoor-ready box camera with deep learning capabilities. Now, this outdoor-ready camera and the indoor model, AXIS Q1656 are available. These cameras feature premium Q-line functionality as well as Axis Lightfinder 2.0 and a 1/1.8” sensor, for impressive performance and outstanding forensic images in low light scenes.

Based on the latest Axis system-on-chip (SoC) , these cameras offer support for advanced features and powerful applications based on deep learning on the edge. Including AXIS Object Analytics, they feature highly nuanced object classification and reliable detection with fewer false positives. Additionally, with support for AXIS Camera Application Platform (ACAP) version 4, Axis enables innovation on Axis AI-based edge devices and strengthens its commitment towards computer-vision-based solutions.

The indoor model, AXIS Q1656, is designed for retrofitting AXIS T92E20 Outdoor Housing, making it easy to add deep-learning capabilities to existing installations. The outdoor-ready model, AXIS Q1656-LE, is enclosed in a robust, impact-resistant IK10-rated casing. This water-resistant, weatherproof camera includes a built-in wiper to guarantee great images even in snow and rain. Additionally, with selectable IR wavelength, it’s possible to choose between covert or semi-covert LED illumination.

Key features include:

  • Exceptional images with 1/1.8” sensor
  • Support for analytics with deep learning
  • Built-in cybersecurity features
  • Premium Axis Q-line camera functionality
  • Indoor and outdoor-ready models

With i-CS lens technology, remote zoom and focus, and support for PoE and redundant DC power, these lightweight, cost-efficient cameras offer flexible installation and maintenance. Additionally, built-in cybersecurity features prevent unauthorized access and safeguard the system.
