Available at http://www.axis.com/files/tech_notes/migration_guide_acs_4_20_en_1505.pdf New features in 4.20.019: ========================= User Interface * Improved usability * A reworked UI for making it easier to use ACS for operators * A reworked full screen mode/monitor window (Operator view) * A new way to search for recordings in playback * Automatic views created after the Add Camera Wizard is completed. Feel free to modify to suit your operator needs after installation is completed. * All views are now managed from the central server. * Improved digital and mechanical PTZ control in Live View --------- Streaming * Two-Way audio support, including AXIS C3003-E and A8004-VE. * Stream re-use: Identical streams are only requested once from the camera, the server can then distribute the streams to several clients * Improved media profile handling. * Added a checkbox in Video & Audio Settings to enable/disable analytics data. Analytics data is disabled when upgrading from 4.08 or during a new installation. * The Motion Detection Trigger period has been move to the advanced section. * Added support for Axis’ Zipstream technology supporting up to 1000 GOP length. * Added dimmed snapshot when the live view is loading the stream to make a smoother transition in Live view. --------- Playback * Memory buffering 30sec (can be switched back to disk buffering in the Customize menu). * Backwards frame stepping of an H.264 recording only updates the playback image when reaching an I-frame when using memory buffering. * Seeking on the timeline of an H.264 recording gives an image of the closest preceding I-frame instead of showing the actual image at the chosen position when using memory buffering. * Simultaneous playback limit is set to 4 cameras by default. Possibility to change to 1, 4 or 9 in the Customize menu. --------- Misc * ACM 4.20 is embedded in ACS 4.20 but hidden by default (You can show it from the Customize menu) * New .NET 4.5.2 required. The user is prompted to install the new version when installing ACS. Reboot may be required. * When cleaning up old recordings, ACS will always leave at least 15GB of space on a recording disk. This implies that ACS will not record on disks with less than 15GB of available space. We discourage the use of disks with a capacity lower than 32GB, though it is possible to select such disks for recording. * Editing motion detection settings when using M-JPEG in High profile is not possible. Use MPEG-4, H264 or the camera web interface. * Camera default names in the Add Camera Wizard is now the camera model instead of Camera X, where X was an index number. * Fix an issue with adding devices when anonymous viewer is enabled. * Various other improvements Changes made in 4.08.060 ============================== * Corrected a failover issue causing the service to restart * All AXIS A1001 related strings are now translated into supported languages Changes made in 4.08.048 ============================== * Corrected a server issue when running firmware 5.70 and Video Motion Detection 2. Known limitations ================= With AXIS Camera Station 4: - Running both VMD 2.1 and VCS at the same time in devices with firmware prior to 5.60 might crash the unit. Please use only one or the other. New firmware is being delivered throughout 2014 to fix this and have devices cope with both. - Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 are no longer supported operating systems. Please consider upgrading your operating system if you need to upgrade to AXIS Camera Station 4. - The full benefits of AXIS Camera Station 4 will not be experienced when upgrading from AXIS Camera Station 3.x. Upgrading preserves configuration and recordings. As such, selection of H.264, use of VMD 2.1 or storage selection has to be done manually. For the full benefits of AXIS Camera Station 4, a fresh install is required. - It is not possible to upgrade directly from AXIS Camera Station 2 to 4. But the licenses can be moved from one installation to the other. - Audio output to camera is only supported from firmware 5.10 Inherited from AXIS Camera Station 3: - AXIS Camera Station doesn't handle 2CIF correctly, use 2CIF Expanded instead. - AXIS Camera Station will use the current regional settings from Windows but will not make use of any custom settings e.g. numeric separators etc. - I/O will not work with AXIS 221, 240Q, 241QA/SA, 225FD, 216FD, 214PTZ or 207W unless they are upgraded to firmware 4.40 or higher. - I/O will not work with AXIS Q7401 on Windows XP. - I/O monitor might get stuck in "Changing..." when toggling output state in P8221. - If a network disk is configured in AXIS Camera Station, then afterwards physically removed from the network, there is a risk that the disk can't be removed from the AXIS Camera Station configuration. - AXIS Camera Station Client installed on Windows 2008/2012 Server should only be used for configuration and not media viewing since for many graphics adapters there are no up to date drivers available for server operating systems. Best Regards, Axis Communications
