FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS 209MFD/209MFD-R Network Camera Release date: 2008-03-19 Release type: Service Firmware version: 4.45.1 File name: 209MFD_4_45_1.bin Preceding release: 4.45 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management 2.0, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. Release 4.45.1 ============== Modifications: ============== 4.45.1:M01 Two new parameters, 'Enable digital PTZ' and 'Max zoom' under PTZ Configuration, are introduced to let the administrator control the digital PTZ functionality. 4.45.1:M02 The parameter 'Noise Color Reduction' is enabled by default, causing the image to gradually lose color as the lighting conditions darken. It can be disabled in Plain Config -> ImageSource by setting the parameter to 0. 4.45.1:M03 Adjusted DC-iris activation to increase image sharpness. 4.45.1:M04 Decreased sensor specific image artifacts. 4.45.1:M05 Improved the white balance and color correction behaviour in low light conditions and at startup of the product. Corrections in 4.45.1 since 4.45 ================================ 4.45.1:C01 To prevent the camera from generating a flickering image while zooming, two new parameters have been included, 'Enable digital PTZ' and 'Max zoom'. Known limitations ================= 4.45.1:L01 If you choose to rotate the image in the Video & Image setup, be aware that the coordinates for motion detection windows created in the Motion Detection setup will not be rotated. Workaround: When defining motion detection windows, temporarily configure the image for 0 degrees of rotation. Change back to the desired rotation again after having defined the motion windows. 4.45.1:L02 When saving a snapshot image, some web browsers (e.g. Mozilla) will fetch a new picture and the saved picture will not match the displayed snapshot. 4.45.1:L03 The Mozilla web browser does not always close the image stream properly when leaving the live view page. Restarting the stream can sometimes fail as well. Restarting Mozilla solves these two problems. 4.45.1:L04 Viewing full screen and sequencing through different external video sources with different video streams in a sequence will switch the full screen mode off. 4.45.1:L05 The AXIS Media Control may stop displaying the MPEG-4 stream after the screen saver has been active or the computer has been locked. Workaround: Reload the Live View page. 4.45.1:L06 If using dual screens and moving the AXIS Media Control window from one screen to the other, the MPEG-4 stream may stop updating. Workaround: Reload the Live View page. 4.45.1:L07 A snapshot image of the MPEG-4 stream will not be aspect ratio corrected when using the AXIS Media Control to take the snapshot image while aspect ratio correction is enabled. 4.45.1:L08 Including format field #b or #B in text overlay will show incorrect bandwidth usage when frame rate is limited for Motion JPEG. 4.45.1:L09 When starting a new live view stream or when getting a still image, running live view streams and events will be stopped for a short while. 4.45.1:L10 Video stream can't be received in IE7 if an IPv6 address is used. Workaround: Use DNS name. 4.45.1:L11 Panning and tilting by clicking in the image is not available when using QuickTime as viewer. Workaround: Use the pan and tilt bars instead. 4.45.1:L12 Zooming using the mouse wheel is only available using the AXIS Media Control or the AXIS Media Java Applet viewers. Workaround: Use the zoom bar instead. 4.45.1:L13 Motion detection windows are adjusted so that their width and height are divisible by 8 (pixels). 4.45.1:L14 Motion detection flag in the JPEG header is not set to 1 if motion is detected. 4.45.1:L15 When trying to store a new overlay image with the same name as the currently loaded overlay image, the loaded overlay image will not be replaced. Workaround: Load the new overlay image with different name and then select the preferred one. Or remove the current and upload the new overlay image file. 4.45.1:L16 Resolutions with height not dividable by 16 may have green artifacts at the bottom of the image. The artifacts are more visible when using higher compression.
