FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS Q7401 Video Encoder Release date: 2011-10-28 Release type: Production Firmware version: 5.20.3 File name: Q7401_5_20_3.bin Preceding release: Q7401_5_20_2.bin AMC version: 5.9.10.0-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management 3.0, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. Corrections since 5.20.2 ================================ 5.20.3:C01 Solved an issue with the Generic TCP server. New Features ============ 5.20.3:F01 Support for a new type of NAND flash. Known limitations/bugs ====================== 5.20.3:L01 It is not possible to use a space in the upload path for a ftp server. 5.20.3:L02 The NTP implementation will not synchronize to NTP servers that signal an alarm condition (clock not synchronized) in its Leap Indicator. 5.20.3:L03 After changing the date/time of the camera, the video stream will stop after 60 seconds with an RTSP session time out. It does not matter if the media stream is started before or after the time is changed. Workaround: Reboot the camera after the time has been changed manually or by NTP. 5.20.3:L04 It is not supported to configure always multicast RTP. 5.20.3:L05 Support for overlays other than full color have been disabled. 5.20.3:L06 A recording from AXIS Media Control sometimes gets a invalid file length written in the file header when the disk is full. Except the header file length, the file data should be correct. 5.20.3:L07 Stream profile names are limited to alphanumerical characters. 5.20.3:L08 When using Mozilla Firefox to view MJPEG, a line might appear in the bottom half of the image when there is a lot of movement. 5.20.3:L09 The combination of MJPEG, AAC and multipart is not supported. 5.20.3:L10 With Safari on Mac OS X Leopard G711 audio stream will be very choppy. 5.20.3:L11 There is a delay between the RTS and TXD signal when enabling the serial port to be configured as RS485 2-wire, 4-wire or RS422. No consequences of this delay have been found. 5.20.3:L12 It is possible to start two simultaneous guardtours. Since there is no priority between guardtours there will be a race condition. The case where one guardtour is first started by the event system and then a second one is started is still handled. In this case the event that started first will run until it is shutdown and if the other event is still active that guardtour will start to run. 5.20.3:L13 There are problems with PTZ when using java applet as viewer - the response may seem slow, the camera movements jerky and the zoom wide button does not zoom out fully. 5.20.3:L14 The audio and video streams may not be synchronized if the audio stream is started after the video stream was started. Workaround: Start both audio and video streams at the same time. 5.20.3:L15 When using scheduled events for recording on SD card, having more than 4 scheduled events can cause problems. Workaround: If the reason for using scheduled events is to record a longer period of time then continous recording should be used instead. 5.20.3:L16 If setting two PTZ presets with the same name, confirming to overwrite the name of the first one will get the the camera into trouble if deleting one of these presets. The camera will need to be restarted. Workaround: Use unique names for the presets and if nescessary, delete the first preset before using it's name for another preset. 5.20.3:L17 The slider moves nice small steps from Near to Far when clicking on the arrow towards Far but after 50% it will move to max Far (max to the right). 5.20.3:L18 video frames recorded in MJPEG at 1920×1080 were not played back at the correct speed in the web page – there seemed to be some transmission lag. 5.20.3:L19 It is not possible to play a MJPEG recording with VLC. Application Developer Information ================================= The AXIS Q7401 supports AXIS VAPIX API - Application Programming Interface version 3.
