FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS P8513/P8514 Network Camera Release date: 2011-04-29 Release type: Production Firmware version: 5.21 File name: P8514_5_21.bin Preceding release: 5.12.1 AMC version: 5.9.10.0-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management 2.0, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. RELEASE 5.21 ============== New Features ================== 5.21:F01 Added ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) support including metadata streaming over RTSP/RTP. This includes streaming of event data, PTZ position and status data, and analytics data. Dynamic web services discovery protocol as specified in ONVIF standard, which follows WS-Discovery definitions (remote discovery will not be supported), is also included. 5.21:F02 Added support for 802.1x. Known limitations ================= 5.21:L01 The image is always showed with zero rotation at the Exposure settings page. 5.21:L02 The effect of backlight compensation on/off may not be noticable. 5.21:L03 Stream profile names are limited to alphanumerical characters. 5.21:L04 If IPv6 is enabled while IPv4 is disabled, the DHCP options received from IPv4 are not removed. Also there is no IPv6 address in the mail body of an SMTP test mail. 5.21:L05 The NTP implementation will not synchronize to NTP servers that signal an alarm condition (clock not synchronized) in its Leap Indicator. 5.21:L06 After changing the date/time of the camera, the video stream will stop after 60 seconds with an RTSP session time out. It does not matter if the media stream is started before or after the time is changed. Workaround: Reboot the camera after the time has been changed manually or by NTP. 5.21:L07 It is not supported to configure always multicast RTP. 5.21:L08 The event combination option "Include pre-trigger buffer" and "Upload as long as the trigger is active" does not work together, only the pre-buffer is saved/uploaded. Workaround: Use post buffer as well. 5.21:L09 When an event or event server is added, modified or deleted all running events will be stopped and restarted. 5.21:L10 There is no boundary check when entering a motion detection window name. If the name is more than 1024 charachters long, the parhand application may restart. 5.21:L11 Sometimes when clicking on the save button after making changes to the exposure window setting, instead of the page reloading you get an error message on an otherwise empty page. 5.21:L12 If RTSP authentication is switched off, streaming H.264 with QuickTime and other Apple compatible clients will not work as they require authentication of the RTSP, but do not allow HTTP authentication. 5.21:L13 The AXIS Media Control client may stop displaying the H.264 video stream after the PC has been locked. Workaround: Reload the Live View page. 5.21:L14 Daylight saving time does not work for Iran. 5.21:L15 The resolution 240x135 will be stretched to 240x136 when using MPlayer or Quicktime. AMC will stretch the resolution to 240x144. 5.21:L16 If a customer is trying to upload a very large file instead of a valid language file, a "404 page cannot be displayed" page is shown. 5.21:L17 When the camera is under extreme network stress for a long time, H.264 clients have dropped off AMC. Workaround: Use automatic re-connect in AMC. 5.21:L18 When the policy is set to HTTPS this must apply for all three groups admin, viewer and operator. If this is not the case and someone is connecting with HTTP the re-direct page will not show. 5.21:L19 When snapshot is taken during live view with frame rate and bandwidth values enabled as text overlay, the values are shown as 0 in the snapshot. This happens for H.264 stream. 5.21:L20 After factory default and click on create self-signed certificate button login pop up is shown. But it is possible to login using username 'root' and password 'pass' and again repeat the process that should then succeed. 5.21:L21 Selected motion detection window changes/switches every time one chooses 'View All Windows' followed by 'View Selected Window'. Seen this behaviour in Firefox and IE8 using Java. 5.21:L22 On Linux Ubuntu the video stream in Firefox with QuickTime as viewer is black using P8513. Picture is shown when taking a snapshot.
