FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS P1343/P1343-E Network Camera Release date: 2010-12-20 Release type: Production Firmware version: 5.20 File name: P1343_5_20.bin Preceding release: 5.06.1 AMC version: 5.9.9.0-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management 3.0, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. RELEASE 5.20 ============ New features ============ 5.20:F01 Added embedded AVHS (Axis Video Hosting System) client. 5.20:F02 Added ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) support including metadata streaming over RTSP/RTP. This includes streaming of event data, PTZ position and status data, and analytics data. Dynamic web services discovery protocol as specified in ONVIF standard, which follows WS-Discovery definitions (remote discovery will not be supported), is also included. 5.20:F03 Axis Camera Application Platform enabling third party developers (ADP partners) to develop, download and run their applications on Axis products is included. 5.20:F04 Added audio clips functionality. Audio clips are created either by recording sound using the camera's microphone or by uploading a sound file to the camera. Modifications ============= 5.20:M01 The RSA key bit length for certificates has been increased to 2048. 5.20:M02 When video is rotated 180 degrees, motion detection configuration page will show the same orientation as Live View. 5.20:M03 View Area functionality with one view area and digital PTZ possibility instead of former Digital PTZ with limited digital PTZ capabilities has been introduced. Improvements since 5.06.1 ========================= 5.20:I01 Improved AMC stability and support for Windows 7. 5.20:I02 Local Storage with new features such as no limit when recording, audio, failover and continuous recording. 5.20:I03 Day/Night algorithm has been changed so that IR cut filter is now automatically switching off in low light even when Max shutter time is shorter than 1/50s. 5.20:I04 An issue with missing I-frames when using low frame rate has been corrected. 5.20:I05 Improved fine-tune focusing speed. 5.20:I06 Improvement has been made to the tampering algorithm to avoid false alarms in varying lighting conditions. A new parameter "DarkThreshold" in Plain Config has been introduced to give the user more flexibility. 5.20:I07 Corrected problem with leading spaces in e-mail address that otherwise could cause send failure. Known limitations ================= 5.20:L01 When removing view areas, the name will be remembered and reused when creating new view areas. 5.20:L02 Specific PTZ preset does not trigger an event. Use Any Position as trigger instead. 5.20:L03 Problem downloading recordings if you fetch 15 or more at the same time. 5.20:L04 Generating crash report can take longer time. Wait for download to finish. 5.20:L05 Recordings made with an earlier firmware will not be readable on the SD Card from a 5.20 firmware. Backup important recordings and reformat the SD Card after firmware upgrade. 5.20:L06 After first registration of the camera to http://www.axiscam.net, some critical errors can be seen in the log and LED will flash, however the updates are working fine. Accessing the camera using axiscam name will get an white image. Workaround: refresh page. 5.20:L07 Removing and reinserting SD card during recording is not recommendable. 5.20:L08 Having a very large number of records (more then 15000) made in a single shot, the last page of the recording list cannot be accessed. Workaround: Restart the camera. 5.20:L09 Daylight saving time does not work for Iran. 5.20:L10 With audio enabled, the initial connection latency is increased. 5.20:L11 Remote back focus operation will be disabled when the temperature is too low. Information will be shown in system log. 5.20:L12 Due to limitation in the drivers, when selecting 16:9 or 16:10 the top and bottom are cropped to fit the aspect ratio in the View Area page.
