FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS M5013 PTZ Dome Network Camera AXIS M5014 PTZ Dome Network Camera Release date: 2012-03-13 Release type: Production Firmware version: 5.40.9 File name: M5013_5_40_9.bin Preceding release: 5.25.2 AMC version: 6.0.6.7-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. New Features ============ 5.40.9:F01 Edge storage with support for CIFS/SMB (Microsoft Network share). 5.40.9:F02 ext4 file system support for SD Card. Axis recommends SD Card users to use the camera to format the SD Card with ext4 instead of the default vFAT. ext4 will increase recording reliability compared to vFAT. Note that SD Cards formatted with ext4 cannot be read by a Microsoft PC without installing additional ext4 drivers on the PC. 5.40.9:F03 The internal Event Management system has been redesigned and VAPIX has been extended with a new Event-API based on Web-Services. Utask has been removed and with that the possibility to start scripts and applications from user.task.list. The legacy user action rules in the camera will continue to work but will not be visible in the camera user interface unless converted to the new design. Event Management user interface (GUI) has been redesigned. For more information please see User's manual. 5.40.9:F04 Always Multicast. Provides the ability to multicast video regardless of wether clients access the streams or not. 5.40.9:F05 ONVIF 1.02 support. 5.40.9:F06 Server Report download. Possibility to download a ZIP-file server report (with or without camera snapshot). This simplifies the process of attaching the server report when submitting a support ticket. 5.40.9:F07 Storage Management 1. Clean up policy is enabled by default and the default value for the parameter is 1 week. 2. Parameter for clean up level is in the Plain Config and default approximately 90% of the storage device capacity. 3. The start time of a recording is updated when data is removed due to clean up policy. 5.40.9:F08 Audio Detection history graph (GUI). The audio history level graph simplifies configuration of audio detection. 5.40.9:F09 Power line frequency has been introduced. After setting initial root password, select the power line frequency (50 Hz or 60 Hz) used at the location of the Axis product. Selecting the right frequency will reduce image flicker if the product is used in fluorescent light environments. When using 50 Hz, the maximum frame rate is limited to 25 fps. Note: After initial configuration, power line frequency can only be changed through Plain Config (capture frequency parameter) or by resetting the product to factory default. Corrections in 5.40.9 since 5.25.2 ================================== 5.40.9:C01 Web services parameter is removed and thus status from the System Overview as well. ONVIF is enabled by specifying an ONVIF administrator in the Security -> ONVIF settings. 5.40.9:C02 RTP over RTSP over HTTP with other than default http port works as expected. 5.40.9:C03 It is no longer necessary to restart the camera after configuring default router parameter via VAPIX. 5.40.9:C04 Improved camera responsiveness. 5.40.9:C05 Configuration of time zone for Australia appears correctly in the web interface. 5.40.9:C06 It is possible to use HTTPS and port forwarding. 5.40.9:C07 Up to 127 characters can be used in the 'From email address' field. 5.40.9:C08 When a PTZ VAPIX call to ptz.cgi is done with several commands including the unsupported ones, the correct commands will be executed instead of being discarded. 5.40.9:C09 While using flicker-free 50Hz or 60Hz exposure control, highlight environments can be overexposed. 5.40.9:C10 HTTP notifications are now corrected and the URI doesn’t get duplicate & signs. Known Bugs/Limitations ====================== 5.40.9:L01 Pan and tilt operations are not available when using the T8412 Installation Display. 5.40.9:L02 Expired or not yet valid client certificates will be uploaded successfully instead of being rejected. 5.40.9:L03 Playing a continuous recording for which the oldest parts are currently removed by automatic disk cleanup, will not show a correct start/stop time. 5.40.9:L04 When playing a continuous recording, the from and start time is not respected. 5.40.9:L05 If a customer is trying to upload a very large file instead of a valid language file, a "404 page cannot be displayed" page is shown. 5.40.9:L06 Color parameter when pulling RTSP stream with color=0 doesn't have effect. 5.40.9:L07 Frame Size Control does not affect the size of the snapshot taken with the upper right control that can be added to the Live View. 5.40.9:L08 Events triggered at the same time, will by the default settings share the same filename. That might result in upload of corrupted image. 5.40.9:L09 Constant bit rate might fluctuate more than 10%. 5.40.9:L10 Recording streams to SD Card with a total bit rate above 12Mbit/sec may cause missing frames/sequences. 5.40.9:L11 It is recommended to unmount the SD Card before ejecting it. 5.40.9:L12 Recordings made on the SD Card with firmware version earlier than 5.20 will not be readable from the 5.40 firmware. Backup important recordings and reformat the SD Card after firmware upgrade. 5.40.9:L13 Check and repair is only available if the file system is ext4. 5.40.9:L14 When using action rule resulting in short recordings, it is recommended to extend post-event time. 5.40.9:L15 Date modifiers "%m-%d-%Y" are not formatted correctly when used with folder name, SMTP subject and message.
