FIRMWARE RELEASE NOTES ====================== Products affected: AXIS M3024-LVE Network Camera Release date: 2014-10-01 Release type: Production Firmware version: 5.50.5 File name: M3024-LVE_5_50_5.bin Preceding release: 5.40.5.1 AMC version: 6.3.12.7-1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS ==================== The firmware can be upgraded using Axis Camera Management, HTTP or FTP. Please follow the instructions from the user's manual, the web page at http://www.axis.com/techsup/cam_servers/how_to_upgrade.htm or the file named howtoupgrade.txt. New Features ============ 5.50.1:F01 Local Language Support, ability to change the cameras user interface to other languages than English. 5.50.1:F02 Edge Storage Disruption Detection, ability to be notified when Edge Storage detects disruptions that may need administrative attention, typically disk unavailable, read/write error, disk full or disk locked. 5.50.1:F03 Text Overlay character set extension, ability to use non-western characters in the video text overlay. Note that Right-to-left languages (e.g. Arabic) are not supported. 5.50.1:F04 Text Overlay Message Action: upon a detected event the camera can display a user defined message in the text overlay. 5.50.1:F05 Email/SSL Recipient, ability for the camera to connect to common email services. The camera includes predefined profiles for e.g. Gmail and Hotmail. 5.50.1:F06 HTTPS Recipient, systems using HTTP notifications from the camera can now do this in a secure way over HTTPS. 5.50.1:F07 Upload Video Clip Action, ability to upload a video clip to an FTP server or an email recipient upon an event. Note that a media player with support for H.264 and Matroska File Format (MKV) is required to play the clip. 5.50.1:F08 Live Stream Access Detection, it is now possible to notify people that someone is actively monitoring a camera. 5.50.1:F09 Edge Storage Device Redundancy, ability to automatically switch recording device between SD Card and NAS if one device detects disruption. 5.50.1:F10 System Ready Event, ability to get notified when the camera has booted and all services are initialized. 5.50.1:F11 Virtual Inputs, used by clients to initiate Action Rules in the camera. Virtual Inputs extends the existing "Manual Trigger" with 32 additional virtual inputs which could be executed through the webservice API. 5.50.1:F12 Centralized Certificate Management, certificates for HTTPS and 802.1x are now managed in one place. The firmware also includes a number of pre-installed CA certificates such as Verisign, Thawt and GeoTrust. 5.50.1:F13 Improved Constant Bitrate Control, the Constant Bit Rate (CBR) will now adjust to target bit rate quicker. 5.50.1:F14 SSH (Secure Shell), a command line interface is added to the camera that may be used for specific support and maintenance activities. Note. Not enabled by default. 5.50.1:F15 Support for Internet Explorer 11. 5.50.5:F16 Axis is now extending SNMP with AXIS Video MIB (Management Information Base). The Video MIB enables notification of a number of possible disruptions in Axis products such as fan failure, temperature limits, storage disruptions, tampering, video/audio connectors disconnect, etc via SNMP traps. A MIB is released for Axis products. See http://www.axis.com/techsup/software/index.htm for more information. 5.50.5:F17 Possibility to trigger action rules based on temperature. Corrections =========== 5.50.5:C01 When selecting 'set password over HTTPS' after a flash_all, the user will not be prompted for login. 5.50.5:C02 Schedule is now visible in Action rules list. 5.50.5:C03 Timezone info in the sending out email header gets updated when changing the camera 'time zone' in the webinterface. 5.50.5:C04 Privacy masks cover the parts requested by user. 5.50.5:C05 To increase robustness, a retry of 10 seconds is added for an action rule. If action fails it will retry until it succeeds or until the rule is no longer active. 5.50.5:C06 The Axis Java Applet is now signed with a trusted certificate. For more information on supported Java versions, see http://www.axis.com/techsup/. 5.50.5:C07 Creating email recipient with action rule on Mac OS with Safari browser is working as expected. 5.50.5:C08 AVHS 2.20 stclient enhancements. 5.50.5:C09 Improved AxisNS stability. 5.50.5:C10 Improvement in handling large NTP time differences with the server. Known Bugs/Limitations ====================== 5.50.5:L01 When the automatic IR cut filter enables/disables the IR cut filter, it may trigger motion detection. 5.50.5:L02 To be able to use all parts of the image in a View Area use the 4:3 Aspect Ratio for the View Area. 5.50.5:L03 Recording streams to SD Card with a total bit rate above 12Mbit/sec may cause missing frames/sequences. 5.50.5:L04 90 and 270 rotation can cause a drop in frame rate. 5.50.5:L05 If max gain is set to a low value, e.g. 0, the IR cut filter may not switch back on automatically. 5.50.5:L06 To avoid corrupt recordings, it is recommended to unmount the SD Card before ejecting it. 5.50.5:L07 Private keys need to be in a PKCS#1 format in order to function when installing Certificates. 5.50.5:L08 The ipv6.class field will have the same value in all IPv6 packages. The class field value depends on the value of the DSCP setting. 5.50.5:L09 Time modifiers used in the field "Create folder" is only used upon activation of the rule, hence no new folders are created with the current time during an active rule. To have new folders created with time modifiers you should add them in the "Base filename". 5.50.5:L10 Longer connection disruptions towards the Network storage during playback of a recording from the Network storage may affect the possibilities to setup new video streaming also some time after reconnection. Ongoing live streaming will not be affected. 5.50.5:L11 To be able to seek in exported mkv recordings you need to use AXIS Matroska File Splitter, see axis.com. Files are playable both with and without AXIS Matroska File Splitter. 5.50.5:L12 SNMP OID that have been set are not kept after reboot. 5.50.5:L13 A combination of a high bandwidth continuous recording and a lot of small recordings can result in disc full. The automatic clean up will stop at the point and the user have to manually remove recordings. 5.50.5:L14 Number of different configured video streams is limited by hardware. 5.50.5:L15 I/O triggers need to be at least one second long for the device to accept the trigger. The minimum signal detection value can be changed in Plain Config for legacy support. 5.50.5:L16 When using a rotated overlay (90 or 270 degrees) and a large overlay text size simultaneously, the maximum allowed size of an overlay image is reduced to about 12 kB. 5.50.5:L17 The recordings database is not backwards compatible. A reformat of the SD-card is needed when installing older firmware. A reformat is also recommended when moving a SD-card from one camera to another.
