American Security Today recognizes multiple Axis solutions for top honors

The Annual ‘ASTORS’ Awards, now in its fifth year, is the preeminent U.S. Homeland Security Awards Program, recognizing the most cutting-edge and forward-thinking security solutions. Axis Communications was honored to win Gold for its AXIS Q1798-LE Network Camera and its AXIS Q1615-LE Mk III Network Camera in the category of Best IP Video Surveillance Solution. Additionally, the Axis Body Worn solution was awarded Platinum for Best Body Worn Video Solution. American Security Today presented the awards virtually during ISC East, and the full list of winners is available here.

“Today, the United States is increasingly focusing on protecting public spaces, as well as IT/cyber security networks, and they are calling on innovative companies like Axis to help them do so,” according to Tammy Waitt, co-founder and editorial director of American Security Today.

“‘ASTORS’ nominations are evaluated on their technical innovation, interoperability, specific impact within the category, overall impact to the industry, relatability to other industry technologies, and application feasibility outside of the industry,” concluded Waitt.

AXIS Q1798-LE Network Camera is a 4k resolution camera that comes equipped with Axis Lightfinder 2.0 technology for increased light sensitivity. This allows it to capture more realistic colors in almost complete darkness and sharper images of moving objects. The camera also comes equipped with IP66, IP67, and IK10 ratings and can handle extreme temperatures from -40 °F to 140 °F.

AXIS Q1615-LE Mk III Network Camera is perfect for city surveillance, transportation, and industrial applications. This outdoor-ready camera offers exceptional video quality (120 fps in HDTV 1080 p), allowing it to capture exceptionally detailed images of fast-moving objects. Equipped with Axis Lightfinder 2.0 and Axis Forensic WDR, this camera can also capture footage in near complete darkness. Furthermore, AXIS Q1615-LE Mk III Network Camera is tailor-made for third-party applications based on deep learning on the edge. The proprietary Axis ARTPEC chip and new deep-learning processing unit (DLPU) enables analytics to run directly on the camera, resulting in a faster and more scalable system.

The new Axis body worn solution includes three main hardware components: AXIS W100 Body Worn Camera, docking station (AXIS W700 Docking Station, 1-bay or AXIS W701 Docking Station, 8-bay), and AXIS W800 System Controller. The Axis body worn solution can be utilized with third-party software, on-premise or in the cloud, allowing for seamless integration with other video surveillance data. It really acts as an extension for a business’ current security system.
