Axis Communications announces the release of added functionality to AXIS P8815-2 3D People Counter which now offers tailgating detection as a feature.
AXIS P8815-2 3D People Counter combines 3D imaging software and hardware in one device to provide real-time counting of people passing through a pre-defined area. It uses images delivered by two sensors to generate a 3D depth map that strengthens the people counting accuracy. So, peak visitor times can easily be identified, and visitor trends quickly analyzed.
The counter can also estimate real-time occupancy levels and provide data on the number of people present in your premises or in a defined area. And it can detect and notify if people move in the wrong direction. Additionally, the tailgating feature can detect and send a notification if more than one person enters within a set time interval. It’s ideal in challenging environments where there are shadows, strong sunlight, glares, or high volumes of foot traffic, and especially useful in areas with revolving doors or unconventional entrances. It’s possible to connect two counters for wide entrances. And, with optional accessories, it can be pendant-mounted or recessed in a ceiling.
AXIS P8815-2 comes with preloaded and pre-calibrated software, so installation is quick and easy.
