Axis executives named most influential figures in Commercial Security
IFSEC Global’s ‘Top influencers in security & fire 2018’ recognizes the most influential fire and security professionals driving the industry forward through innovation; improving regulation, promoting industry best practice; driving the success of the organization they lead or are employed by; or being a prominent, persuasive voice in the media.
Named number one in the list for the vendors and manufacturers category, Dr. Martin Gren has greatly influenced the modern security surveillance market. He is the co-inventor of the first network camera, which he created in 1996 and went on to co-found Axis Communications. A member of the Axis board, Dr. Gren has been instrumental in growing it into the global leader in solutions for a smarter, safer world.
With nearly 25 years of engineering and entrepreneurial experience, Dr. Gren is no stranger to the IFSEC Global Influencer awards, having won the same award last year and regularly featuring among the top three. He has many other accolades to his name, including being awarded the H.M. the King’s Medal, from the Swedish Royal Court in 2015, for “significant contributions to Swedish industry”.
Johan Paulsson has been recognized in second place for his part in creating innovative security surveillance solutions at Axis Communications. For example, he was an instrumental part of bringing the company’s award-winning Zipstream compression technology to market. A forward thinker in the security and surveillance space, Johan has written numerous blogs about innovation in the security market, with his thoughts often being quoted in the media
Atul Rajput, Regional Manager Business Development at Axis Communications has said of Dr. Gren, “Martin’s incredible career has seen many achievements. He has been a fundamental part of Axis’ success and continues to be involved with the company through the research, development and technological innovation that is powering our momentum to drive the security market forwards.”
