To help with the process, Axis launched AXIS Site Designer. With this tool you manage system design, project estimates and installation. You can accurately specify any Axis devices and accessories. Storage and bandwidth estimates make it easy to select and include VMS (Video Management System) products from Axis and Axis partners. To further improve accuracy, simplicity and efficiency in designing surveillance systems, Axis has launched an updated version of AXIS Site Designer.

Designed to improve the whole design and implementation experience, with AXIS Site Designer, all planning can be managed from one tool – whether it is a small single site installation or a multi-location system rollout.

The intuitive interface allows for devices and accessories to be easily identified and matched to the end-user’s requirements. Notes can be added to the chosen components and shared directly with installers to avoid any issues during setup.

Once the solution has been designed, quotes can be created for the client, either directly from within AXIS Site Designer, or, using the handy export feature, though other quoting software. Further, if there is any tweaking that needs to be done, the revisions can be made in AXIS Site Designer and the quote associated with that project can be quickly updated with the new design’s costs. All this saves time and make accommodating change requests a breeze.

A new, exciting feature of the updated AXIS Site Designer is maps. The maps feature saves time and costs, making the system planning even more efficient by:

Allowing for a floorplan or map of the target site to be imported in the tool, for an easier way to plan and view camera and device placement and coverage.
Showing the client the complete surveillance system in an intuitive map view, to avoid (or rectify) any misunderstandings before the final project is signed off.
Including design, device selection, quotations, installation and set-up in one tool.
