Next generation CCTV system improves school security
MissionSt. Michael’s Catholic Primary School, Liverpool needed to replace its existing, inflexible and slow analogue CCTV system with a more effective and robust IP-based surveillance solution that could be easily accessed remotely. The school had a limited budget, so needed a cost-effective, user-friendly solution that was easy to install and would provide high quality images that could clearly identify trespasser and thieves, and improve the safety of staff and pupils. The school also wanted a solution which was easy to control and could allow much faster access to archive footage.
SolutionRecognising the analogue CCTV system needed to change in order to meet its requirements, the school turned to Liverpool-based installer Focus Fire & Security who assisted by their security consultant Colin Leary, designed a system recommending the AXIS Camera Companion IP surveillance solution specifically designed for small systems of up to 16 network cameras. Using AXIS Camera Companion with Axis IP surveillance cameras allowed Focus Fire & Security to install the solution quickly, pain free and without disruption, take advantage of the very latest HDTV image quality, remote access and storage capabilities, as well as integrate in some of the schools existing analogue cameras.
ResultThe school now has a cost-effective, easy-to-use IP surveillance system that can be accessed remotely by authorised users via a PC, smartphone, or tablet. The system provides exceptional image quality and has been quick and easy to install. The cameras are delivering excellent footage and the speed in which archive material can be viewed has significantly increased giving a higher level of control over the school site security.
