Axis 2022 Sustainability Report

sustainability report 2022

Axis has published its twelfth annual sustainability report created in line with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and the UN Global Compact. Axis remained dedicated to sustainable operations and the quality of its solutions throughout 2022, which was a year of strong growth and all-time-high revenue. Close co-operation with partners minimized risk throughout the entire value chain and reinforced mutual long-term dedication to openness, ethics, trust, and transparency.

Axis knows that sound business practices are crucial for a sustainable future. Caring for people, the planet, innovating responsibly, and being trustworthy all make good business sense. Throughout 2022 Axis rolled out several improvements across these four cornerstones of business sustainability.

Highlights from the report include:

Respect people

Axis continued to build upon the human rights impact assessments it started in 2021, identifying and monitoring several areas where adverse human rights impacts are most likely to be present and significant. Axis is now preparing to integrate human rights into dialogue with, and training of, suppliers and business partners.

Protect our planet

Axis committed to setting science-based emissions reduction targets. These targets will provide a clearly defined pathway for Axis to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while future-proofing business growth. The targets will be ambitious and will define the overall goals in emissions reduction across the organization and along the entire value chain. Axis suppliers and partners will also be expected to adhere to the same standards.

Innovate responsibly

In 2022, Axis extended the scope for its ISO/IEC 27001 certification to include the development and operation of its software platform for connected services. The certification was renewed in 2021 and the scope is now further expanded.

Axis also believes that long-term sustainable cybersecurity is created through collaboration and transparency. Toward the end of 2022, Axis launched a private bug bounty program with Bugcrowd, the leader in crowdsourced cybersecurity.

Be trustworthy

Axis undertook in an independent third-party sustainability assessment, carried out by EcoVadis, and was awarded a silver sustainability rating. This is an endorsement of Axis’ approach to ensuring a high standard in all ESG criteria.

Ray Mauritsson, President and CEO, Axis Communications added: “I am proud of the dedication of my colleagues, our partners, and our supply chain, to responsible and sustainable business practices. Because of them, Axis was able to stick solidly to its growth goals and improve upon many of our sustainability objectives. We remain ambitious and uncompromising in our drive to remaining a long-term, profitable growth organization, and in being a company that contributes toward a better society.”
