Axis Communications launches first camera supporting powerful artificial intelligence

A top-of-the-line fixed box camera, AXIS Q1615 Mk III features an innovative dual chipset that is the basis for nuanced and very granular object classification. The chipset, which combines the proprietary Axis ARTPEC-7 chip with a deep-learning processing unit (DLPU), offers exceptional AI-based object-classification capabilities. The camera's advanced hardware supports integration with third-party applications based on AI and classification of people and objects.
The camera’s dual chipset allows analytics to run on the edge, which results in a faster and more scalable system. Other benefits include real-time processing, and lower costs and complexity. In addition, because only relevant video is transferred over the network, storage and bandwidth needs are reduced, as are privacy concerns.
Key features include:
- Powerful artificial intelligence with deep learning
- Granular object-classification
- Support for third-party AI-based applications
- 100% edge-based processing for scalability and savings
- Top-of-the-line Axis Q-line camera features
The cameras will be available through Axis' standard distribution channels in Q3 2020.
