Panoramic cameras deliver outstanding images and complete 360° overview

AXIS M4317/8-PLVE Panoramic Camera

Axis Communications announces two new panoramic cameras featuring a deep learning processing unit (DLPU) to enable intelligent applications based on deep learning on the edge. They offer excellent image quality and a complete 180° or 360° overview, around the clock regardless of the light conditions.

These discreet, outdoor-ready mini domes offer outstanding images in any light conditions. AXIS M4317-PLVE includes a 6 MP sensor whereas AXIS M4318-PLVE includes a 12 MP sensor. Featuring a stereographic lens and Sharpdome 360, they deliver greater sharpness at the edges of the image. With day/night functionality and built-in IR illumination with individually controllable LEDs, they ensure clear, reflection-free footage and excellent image quality even in low light or complete darkness. Additionally, AXIS M4318-PLVE supports digital PTZ views as well as dewarped views such as panorama, quad, corner, and corridor.

These high-performance cameras include a deep learning processing unit (DLPU) that enables unique opportunities for analytics based on deep learning. Thanks to AXIS Object Analytics, it’s possible to detect and classify humans, vehicles, and types of vehicles—all tailored to specific needs.

Key features include:

  • Complete 180° and 360° overview
  • Built-in IR with individual IR LEDs
  • Support for deep learning analytics
  • Built-in cybersecurity features
  • Digital roll for ease of installation

Built on ARTPEC-8, these mini domes include built-in cybersecurity features to help prevent unauthorized access and safeguard the system. Furthermore, they’re delivered factory-focused and with digital roll functionality it’s possible to remotely adjust the rotation of the camera overview.

The cameras will be available through Axis distribution channels in Q2 2023.
