The AXIS P33 Network Camera Series Ideal for Unobtrusive Video Surveillance in Exposed Areas Such as Airports, Retail Buildings, Railway Stations, Subways
LAS VEGAS. – April 1, 2009 – Axis Communications, the global leader in the network video market, today announced here at ISC West its AXIS P33 Network Cameras, a series of modular indoor and outdoor-ready fixed domes designed for quick installation with new and unique remote focus and zoom capabilities.
Offering high performance video, including HDTV image quality and multiple H.264 streams, these cameras constitute the best choice for a wide range of demanding video applications.
“The AXIS P33 Network Camera Series is specifically designed for efficient installation in both indoor and harsh outdoor environments,” said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager of Axis Communications, Inc. “The unique remote focus and zoom functionalities, as well as the ability for the cameras to operate in extreme climates using standard Power over Ethernet (PoE) (IEEE 802.3af), will save system integrators valuable installation time and make the cameras fit any project and environment. The AXIS P33 series meets demanding requirements for superb video quality, on-board storage and intelligence.”
AXIS P33 Network Cameras, which all support PoE, come in six models ranging from standard indoor models to vandal-resistant outdoor models perfectly adapted for harsh environments. The outdoor-ready models of the AXIS P33 Series operate in extreme temperatures of -40º to 131º F (-40 º to 55 º C) even when powered by standard PoE.
The AXIS P33 Series uses progressive scan technology, providing superb video quality in 30 frames per second, in full resolution. AXIS P3343 Network Cameras deliver SVGA resolution, whereas the AXIS P3344 models offer 1 megapixel or HDTV 720p in compliance with the SMPTE standard in resolution, color representation and frame rate (30 fps). The network cameras support wide dynamic range and day/night functionality enabling clear images both in daylight and in dark lighting conditions.
The AXIS P33 Series provides multiple, individually configurable video streams in H.264 compression, which greatly optimizes bandwidth and storage without compromising image quality. Motion JPEG is also supported for increased flexibility. In addition, the remote zoom feature ensures that the viewing angle is optimized at installation for the scene and required pixel resolution. The remote focus function makes the installation convenient, eliminating the need for focusing and viewing at the camera position.
Other features include two-way audio support and video intelligence such as video motion detection, audio detection and detection of camera tampering attempts. In addition, AXIS P33 Network Cameras offer a built-in SD/SDHC memory card slot, enabling several days of recordings to be stored locally.
AXIS P33 Network Cameras are supported by the industry’s largest base of video management software through the Axis Application Development Partner program as well as by AXIS Camera Station. The new network cameras will be available in June 2009 through Axis’ distribution channels.
