Axis Communications, the global leader within network video¹, is experiencing increasing interest in its training program – Axis Communications’ Academy. The extended use of network cameras in various applications around the world is one reason for this. However, the main driver is the ongoing technology shift from analogue CCTV to IP-based video surveillance systems.
To support Axis partners and customers globally, Axis’
Academy conducts training at a number of locations in the US, Europe and Asia.
Since the start of the Academy in 2005, more than 5000 professionals have been
educated in the benefits of network video. Across the UK, since 2005 nearly 550
individuals have participated in Axis Academy courses, with currently over 20
course attendees per month during 2007.
Simon Barnard, Technology Director at IDC, a UK-based system integrator,
participated in a recent Axis’ Academy session. “Axis is the world leader within
network video, and we appreciate having access to their invaluable knowledge”,
says Mr. Barnard. “Axis’ Academy allows us to interact closely with Axis staff,
which is very beneficial for us. But just as important is the possibility to
share ideas and discuss business opportunities and technology trends with peers
in the industry.”
Anders Laurin, executive vice president marketing, Axis Communications,
commented:
“The market for network video products is currently growing with about 40% per
year, creating a great need for knowledge exchange. This has become very evident
in the market response for Axis’ Academy. In 2007 alone, we will educate close
to 3000 persons in more than 35 different countries and we expect to see much
higher numbers in 2008.”
Steve Gorski, managing director, Axis Communications (UK) Ltd commented:
“This commitment to educating the market, the support package it offers its
channel partners, and R&D investment over the years goes together to create a
very positive backdrop feeding our continued success in leading network video
market growth.”
