Axis Communications, the global leader in network video1, is now offering a new upgrade2 for all AXIS Camera Station Version 1 users to the recently launched AXIS Camera Station 2.0. AXIS Camera Station offers automatic camera installation, a new easier user
interface, MPEG-4 recording, audit log and multi-lingual versions covering
French, Italian, Spanish, German as well as English. AXIS Camera Station is
scalable for up to 25 cameras and offers live viewing of up to 16
simultaneously, motion detection, archiving, remote access via a web browser or
Windows PC, user access control, advanced searching and support for AXIS Image
Enhancer for spotting details in poor visibility.
Axis is also offering its new entry-level video management software, AXIS Camera
Station One, free with all new Axis products sales from this month. AXIS Camera
Station One software enables simultaneous viewing and recording of high quality
MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG video from a single network camera. It offers dome and
PTZ control, motion detection and the facility to send alarm alerts by email or
text.

1 Axis Communications is the leading player in the network camera
market with 47 per cent market share in the EMEA region according to industry
analyst house IMS Research in its latest market report entitled ‘The World
Market for CCTV and Video Surveillance Equipment 2005 Edition’ published in
October 2005. The network camera market was worth $54.7m in 2004 and is set to
grow by 50 per cent per year over the next five years to reach a value of
$360.6m in 2009, in EMEA alone, according to the same report.
2 4- and 10-base AXIS Camera Station license holders are
offered an option to upgrade to an updated version of the software if it comes
available within a year of purchasing the original license. After expiry of this
option license holders need to buy a yearly ‘Upgrade License’ to gain access to
any newer versions of the software.
