Axis introduces professional PTZ network camera combining day/night and audio
Axis Communications, the global leader in IP-Surveillance, launched today the AXIS 214 Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) Network Camera, a high performance camera for professional surveillance and remote monitoring. The AXIS 214 PTZ combines a high-quality PTZ colour camera enhanced with day/night and audio functions. The camera is capable of covering a wide field of view, making it ideal for use in mid-sized businesses.
The AXIS 214 PTZ is ideally suited for professional surveillance and monitoring applications with automatic day/night functionality. This provides hi-quality colour video in low-light conditions and sharp black-and-white video in extremely dark conditions. The camera’s synchronised two-way audio feature enables remote users to listen to, and speak with, visitors or intruders.
Dominic Bruning, managing director of Axis Communications UK, commented:
“The demand for PTZ network cameras has grown, as it is a cost-efficient and convenient improvement over analogue systems which require additional wiring. The AXIS 214 PTZ broadens Axis’ network camera portfolio with a high-quality professional standard camera at an attractive price point.”
The AXIS 214 PTZ incorporates an 18x optical motorised lens and a 12x digital zoom with auto focus, which allows users to zoom in on small or distant objects with exceptional clarity. The network camera has built-in motion detection and simultaneous MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG compression to optimise storage and viewing capabilities. It also provides pre- and post-alarm image buffering, and alarm notifications for scheduled or triggered events.
The AXIS 214 PTZ is now available through Axis’ distribution channels. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the camera is £839 excluding VAT.
